Welcome to the first newsletter on the Belgium Pavilion in Shanghai, in which we aim to provide you with regular updates on the latest state of affairs and news about our Expo 2010 activities in the bustling Chinese trading centre.
Seven exciting months lie ahead of us. More than 200 countries and organisations have pulled out all the stops to show the best they have to offer, starting on the first of May. And what about Belgium? There may have been a slight delay to the start of our construction work, but we are bang on schedule! The finishing touches will be made to the pavilion on the 15th of April, and 2 weeks later, on the official Shanghai World Expo 2010 launch date, we will open our doors to the world.
The various sections of this newsletter will focus on the progress made in the construction of the Belgian pavilion, the teams involved in this fantastic event, our partner companies, organisations and Belgian regions who have enabled us to achieve our goals and ambitions. We will talk about buildings and projects, but we are also keen to introduce you to the people behind this event. We will also be checking out what is going on in the other pavilions, as well as staying in touch with our colleagues in Shanghai - a metropolis of superlatives that is determined to astonish the world with its aptitude for organisation in 2010.
Follow us via this newsletter and our website - www.shanghai2010.be and if you have the chance, come along! It is set to be an unforgettable Expo.
